Adventure right on your doorstep

Via ferrata routes, suspension bridge & zip line in the Obersulzbach valley

Put on your helmet, clip in your carabiner and off you go: a variety of climbing adventures await adventurers of all ages at the entrance to the Obersulzbachtal valley.

From the easy Blausee family via ferrata, via the dizzying suspension bridge and the Flying Fox, right through to the more challenging Friedburg via ferrata, there’s something for beginners, families and experienced via ferrata climbers alike.

Particularly handy for our guests: the meeting point for the guided tours is at the mill, right next to the Siggen Inn. You can easily hire the necessary via ferrata equipment at the Vorderegger archery course. A holiday adventure really couldn’t get off to a much simpler start.

First steps on the rock

Blausee Family Via Ferrata

The Blausee Family Via Ferrata is ideal for children, families and anyone who’d like to give via ferrata a go. Easy traverses and a few slightly steeper steps provide variety without overwhelming beginners.

This short and very well-secured via ferrata is situated at the entrance to the Obersulzbachtal valley and is mainly rated between difficulty levels A and B. Guided tours are suitable for children aged six and over and last around one and a half hours. No prior experience is required – a sure footing, a reasonable level of fitness and a desire for a little adventure are all you need.

The tour can be combined particularly nicely with a detour to the nearby Blausee. After the climb, a lovely spot awaits there where you can catch your breath, take in the views and stretch your legs.

A little test of courage that’s great fun

Suspension bridge & Flying Fox

Fancy a bit more of a thrill? Then, securely harnessed, you’ll cross the wobbly rope bridge and then glide through the countryside on the Flying Fox along a steel cable.

The suspension bridge and Flying Fox can be booked as a separate guided adventure tour or combined with the Blausee family via ferrata. Before setting off, the mountain guides will explain the equipment and the most important safety techniques. No climbing experience is necessary, but you should have sure-footedness and a head for heights. The tour itself takes about an hour; there is a weight limit of around 100 kilograms for the Flying Fox.

A helmet, harness and via ferrata set are included in the guided tours. The meeting point is at the Vorderegger archery course, directly opposite us – so the adventure begins practically right on our doorstep for our guests.

For anyone looking to aim higher

Friedburg via ferrata

Things get considerably more challenging on the Friedburg via ferrata. The route, which is around 300 metres long, cuts across the rock face above the entrance to the valley and becomes increasingly steep as it climbs.

A particular highlight is the long, exposed Großvenediger ladder. This is followed by a few more steep sections leading up to the Friedburg ruins – complete with a beautiful view over the valley. The via ferrata has a difficulty rating of C to D and requires prior via ferrata experience, as well as sure-footedness and a head for heights. It is recommended for children aged ten and over, or those at least 140 centimetres tall. You should allow around three to four hours for a guided tour.

If you’d like to experience a truly varied day’s climbing, you can also combine the Friedburg via ferrata with the Blausee family via ferrata and the Flying Fox.
