Bike & Hike to the glacial lake
The glacial lake in the Obersulzbachtal is one of the most impressive natural attractions in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The retreat of the glacier has created a young lake here – tranquil, clear and surrounded by a majestic mountain landscape.
The tour is particularly lovely as a bike-and-hike excursion: cycle on an e-bike to the Kürsingerhütte material cable car. From there, the Glacier Nature Trail leads on to the glacial lake. Along the way, moraines, rock slabs and the high-alpine landscape show just how much the glacier has shaped this valley. Once you reach the lake, it becomes clear: where there used to be ice, there is now water.
Tip:
If you’d like to do a shorter tour here, you can also take the valley taxi to the material cable car. This saves you the long approach and leaves you with more energy for the glacier nature trail – the most beautiful part of the tour.
